Powdered Copper Clay by Hadar Jacobson & COPPRclay™ from Rio Grande is here! This exciting new medium offers a new world of possibilities for jewelry- makers. Copper Clay provides an incredible artistic range. And, it's so affordable, it can be used to create fabulous pieces that look expensive but won’t break the bank.

Level: This class is open all levels. Prerequsite: Some working knowledge of metal clays. Class sizes are small: Limit 6 students

For those who work in silver clay, you'll need a separate set of tools for Copper Clay to avoid cross-contamination. Unfired dust and bits of Copper clay clay must be kept separate from silver clay and BRONZclay. Needle files and diamonds files should have a set dedicated to Copper clay. Brushing the dust off the tools is not good enough. The tools must not mingle. The rule is easy: if the tool creates dust or if dust builds up on it, keep a separate set for all of your clays used.

What to bring to class:

*COPPRclay from Rio or powdered Copper Clay from Hadar Jacobson 100 g or 200 g (Both are Available to purchase in class)
*Clay cutter
*Tissue blade
*Clear roller
*Graph mat - smooth plastic cutting mat at least 5”x8”
*4"x4" Teflon sheet
*Rubber block small or large
*Agate burnisher
*Particulate mask
*Assortment of wet and dry abrasive paper (180-600 grit)
*Salon files
*Needle files (Do not mix your files. Use one set for filing clay
and one set for Copper clay.)
*Needle tool or Awl
*Stainless steel brushes – long or short bristles
Sharpie black permanent marker - fine point
Apron -- A MUST
Note book to take notes
*6 inch ruler
*Small plastic spray bottle
*X-Acto Knife or Craft Knife
*Scissors (short about 5”)
*Texture sheets (Some available to use in class)
